YOU COULD BE A TUTOR!

We are always looking for tutors! Our tutors include men and women of all ages and from many different backgrounds. These volunteers are committed to helping others and are truly changing lives!

Adult Literacy Fredericton asks volunteer tutors who complete the tutor training to commit to working with an adult learner for up to one year. They must also agree to maintain confidentiality regarding their learner.

To find out more about how you can become a volunteer tutor with ALF, contact Executive Director, Kate Weaver by phone at 506-458-1396, or by email at info@adultliteracyfredericton.org.

SPECIAL EVENTS

There are lots of ways during the year that you could help out with! This may include administration, marketing, social media, and customer service. For instance, our annual book sale, which would not be possible without the dozens of volunteers who collect, sort and organize books for the sale during the fall.

THIRD PARTY FUNDRAISING EVENTS

Show your independence and altruism by organizing your own event to support ALF!
You could run a garage sale, a carwash – the possibilities are only limited by your imagination.

In addition to raising money for a good cause, organizing this type of event shows initiative, drive and management skills. Please let us know what you are planning so we can provide support, if able.

BOARD/GOVERNANCE

Volunteering for the ALF Board gives you the opportunity to practice important skills used in the workplace, such as teamwork, communication, problem solving, project planning, task management, and organization. Board members are as important as staff positions to a non-profit organization and are highly competitive so have your resume ready to apply.
